My favourite food in the world
A plate of hot pancakes drizzled with Buckwheat Honey might be the most loved food item of the planet.
I am very foodie. I love to eat and cook. The food gives us energy. Without food, there is no life. There are so many dishes available in today’s world some like Indian foods like Biryani, Dosa, Pav Bhaji, Pani Puri etc whereas some like western foods like Pizza, Burger, Noodles etc. Among the number of food Pizza is my favorite food because it tastes and smells fabulous.
The pizza itself looks so yummy, crispy and so cheesy. There is no better feeling in the world than a warm pizza box on your lap. My love for Pizza is very high. I am always hungry for pizza, be it any time of the day. Cheese is the secret ingredient of any food it makes any food taste yummy. Nearly any ingredient can be put on pizza. Those diced vegetables, jalapenos, tomato sauce, cheese and mushrooms makes me eat more and more like a unique work of art
Every pie is a different shape and size. There are thin crust pies, deep dish pies, and everything in between. There are pies with different cheeses and tomato sauce, or even pies with a completely different base altogether. On every occasion, I celebrate it with pizza style. There are times when I get scolded for having pizza all the time because anything in excess causes harms to our health but a pizza lover will always be a pizza lover. There is something between me and pizza the bond which cannot be broken.
Corn:-
Corn was grown already 9,000 years ago in Mexico. IN 2012, archaeologist found the evidence that popcorn was eaten already by native Americans in Peru more than 5,000 years ago.
Popcorn is made with maize/corn kernels that 'explode' when the kernels are heated over fire or on a stove. A temperature of about 180°C/355°F must be reached to make the kernels pop. Then each kernel puffs to more than 20 times its original size!
Did you know that Mexicans enjoy to munch their popcorn with hot jalapeƱo sauce? Americans usually prefer to snack on popcorn with salt and butter and Germans eat them sprinkled with sugar.
The food was definitely the thing I was most excited about when we decided to visit India and I was not disappointed! From the curries, to the tea, to the many types of breads, the delicious sweets, and the street snacks, I loved (almost) everything we ate while in India. I’ll reveal the one item responsible for the ‘almost’ later.
You might think you know Indian cuisine, but it is so much more than Butter Chicken! So keep reading to find out about our favourite foods in India, and look out for them the next time you head to your local Indian restaurant. Give them a go, you won’t regret it!
I am a very indecisive person and I like to try a bit of everything, so I absolutely loved the Thali!
Its basically a platter of Indian goodness. You are given a round silver tray with small bowls filled with different types of curry, rice, salad or vegetables, yoghurt, pickle, sometimes soup, and dessert. The amount of dishes depends on the price you pay, but we had some really good vegetarian Thali for 100-120 rupees which is $2-3 NZ. All that selection for only a few dollars, that’s my idea of a perfect meal!
Phill and I don’t usually eat dairy at home, and for the first 5 months of our trip we were pretty good at sticking to this. But when we got to India, dairy free life went out the window. They literally put dairy in everything! If its not butter or yoghurt, its ghee or cheese. We would order what we thought was a dairy free meal and it would come out with yoghurt or a clump of butter on top… Facepalm!
So after the first day or two we decided to just embrace the dairy (sorry cows!) and gave up trying to order dairy free meals. I’m quite glad we did because we discovered the amazingness that is Palak Paneer
When I wasn’t eating Aloo Paratha for breakfast, I was eating Puri. I discovered this at a train station restaurant. They had one of each menu item prepared and displayed in a cabinet. I didn’t really know what the Puri was but it looked intriguing, so I gave it a go. Its a deep fried flat bread that puffs up when its cooked. Its really fun to eat, and tastes delicious (like all fried things do), especially when dipped in a spicy curry sauce or relish, which its usually served with. Needless to say I did not regret my breakfast choice that day.
